Hosted by: Joy of Memorable Creations
Purpose: Raising funds & awareness for Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness Month
A room full of color, courage, and connection
On October 25, 2025, the John Gray Event Center was transformed into a sea of pinks and purples, warm hugs, and contagious smiles as women from across the community gathered for Joy of Memorable Creations’ Annual Sip & Paint – Karaoke & Photobooth.
Canvas by canvas, guests painted, sang along to their favorite songs, took fun photos, and—most importantly—showed up in solidarity for those impacted by breast cancer and domestic violence. It was joyful. It was emotional. It was safe. And it was community at its best.
This yearly gathering is more than a creative outing; it’s a soft landing place for survivors, supporters, and advocates to be seen, heard, and loved.
Powerful voices: Stories that stay with us
The heart of the afternoon came through two incredible speakers:
Coach Mysoline Monique – Domestic Violence Awareness
Coach Mysoline shared a transparent, hope-filled message on recognizing red flags, breaking cycles of abuse, and reminding every woman in the room that her life, safety, and voice matter. Her words offered both practical tools and spiritual encouragement, reinforcing that no one has to suffer in silence and that help is available.
Sister Vernita Rogers – Breast Cancer Awareness
Sister Vernita spoke boldly about early detection, regular screenings, and paying attention to our bodies. She honored survivors, remembered those we’ve lost, and encouraged guests to become messengers of awareness in their own families and circles. Her testimony wrapped medical wisdom in compassion, reminding us that knowledge truly saves lives.
Together, their messages turned the event into a living classroom—where art, testimony, and advocacy worked hand in hand.
Living the mission of Joy of Memorable Creations
Joy of Memorable Creations (JOMC) was founded by Charlestine M. Joyner Hudson in honor of her sister LaShone “Quickey” Joyner, with a promise to turn pain into purpose. joyofmemorablecreations.com
Today, JOMC continues that promise by inspiring hope and strengthening communities through outreach that raises awareness, promotes wellness, and provides vital support in areas including domestic violence, cancer, suicide prevention, health education, financial literacy, and more. joyofmemorablecreations.com+1
The Annual Sip & Paint is a beautiful reflection of that mission in action:
- Creating safe spaces for survivors and supporters.
- Centering difficult conversations in a gentle, welcoming environment.
- Using creativity and fellowship as tools for healing and education.
- Turning a Saturday afternoon into tangible impact for women and families.
Moments we’ll remember
- Laughter echoing over karaoke tracks as women hyped each other up.
- Quiet tears of understanding during spoken moments of testimony.
- New friendships formed at shared tables, brushes in hand.
- Survivors proudly standing, supported by a room full of love.
- Photobooth snapshots capturing joy, sisterhood, and strength.
Every ticket purchased, every story shared, and every ribbon worn helped push the mission forward.
