Charlestine Joyner Hudson Featured by the National Center for Victims of Crime

Charlestine Joyner Hudson, Founder of Joy of Memorable Creations, recently took the stage at the National Center for Victims of Crime’s National Training Institute From September 10th, in Chicago, joining fellow survivors and advocates for an important conversation surrounding domestic violence.

During the presentation, Charlestine spoke on safety and trauma-informed support for survivors of domestic violence, addressing barriers survivors may face when seeking immediate safety, what trauma-informed support looks like in practice, and the importance of coordination among housing, healthcare, and community service systems.

Her participation was later highlighted in the National Center for Victims of Crime’s Common Thread Digest, which featured Charlestine alongside fellow advocates from the Chicago presentation. The National Training Institute brought together 800 attendees across 87 sessions with a shared mission of advancing victim services.

For Charlestine, the opportunity reflects the heart of Joy of Memorable Creations: using education, advocacy, lived experience, and community connection to help individuals and families move toward healing, stability, and empowerment.

This is more than a speaking engagement. It’s another opportunity to turn experience into advocacy—and advocacy into change.
